Just finished this on-train reading. It was a very good experience, I personally found the ending particularly outstanding, it added to this book something mysterious, something beyond comprehension.  It's painful sometimes, to remember(/or to understand) all sorts of names of indian gods, let alone those names of animal. These are three things that shed little credibility to me:

1. the descriptions of Pi's religion practice;
2. the meeting in the ocean of another french man; (this one is probably hallucination)
3. the floating killing algae isle;

several tips of reading this book:
1. make sure you know what is an orangutan, meerkat, dorado...
2. ask your indian friend who is Krishna, Shiva, Ganesha, Shakti...

the rest of the book is more than fun.
